I bought a copy of the game from GOG.com and thus circumvented the need for any no-CD patches.
Their games are 100% DRM-free, which is neat when you use Crossover.
Steps (if you get the game from GOG.com):
- Run the setup_evil_genius.exe file with Crossover Games
- Follow the instructions
- Launch and play 😊
I am running Crossover Games 8.0.0 on Snow Leopard 10.6.1.
The game does crash once in a while, so please remember to save often (as mentioned in a previous thread).
You can use the quicksave function by clicking F5. It also autosaves every 10 minutes (I think it is), so if you do forget, not all progress is lost.
It tends to be when a lot is happening on the screen for me. For instance, 15 minions are fighting 5 agents and I try to build a room at the same time. This is only when you can see the actual fight; if it's taking place outside of your view, it's not a problem.
At other times it just seems to crash randomly.
