Eve Online IGB and Tripwire

I just tried out Eve Online using crossover, and it seems to work fine. The in game browser appears to work fine, except when I go to the Tripwire (wormhole mapping site) website (https://tripwire.eve-apps.com/) I get the message:

Error Loading Requested URL

Unable to process the website's SSL certificate

Error Code: -207

Any tips?

Maybe this site uses an SSL certificate signed by a root CA that's not in your operating system's trusted list, but is trusted on Windows. Can you successfully open the website with Sarafi (assuming you're using OSX)? Can you use curl or wget from a command line to download its index.html file without an SSL error?

Note that Google Chrome and Firefox usually bring their own SSL implementation and root CAs, so they're not really suitable for testing. CrossOver uses gnutls on Linux, which to my knowledge gets its CAs from /etc/ssl/certs. On OSX we use the OSX-native Security Framework. I believe it gets its certificates from the OSX keychain.

The site loads from safari, and from the official Mac version of EVE online (assuming I get the in game browser there to launch at all... which is one of the reasons why I was looking into crossover...) So I'm guessing that the certificate is somehow missing in crossover's trusted list?

I can reproduce the issue (or at least I think I do) with CrossOver's builtin IE replacement. It refuses to load this site because it claims it doesn't know the root CA. I wonder if this error is a red herring and the real issue is something different. If not, I'm a bit puzzled - I don't think we have our own set of root certificates, and if it works with wget, Safari, etc it should work in CrossOver...

You could try to install some version of Internet Explorer into the EVE bottle. That'll give you Microsoft's SSL libraries and CA certificates. I can't promise that it'll fix the problem, it is just a semi-educated guess.

Having the exact same problem, can this because the wrapper still runs windows 2000 instead of windows 7 or 8. ( in the automatic installation. )

making us instal internet explore in it would maybe solve it ?

some of the components eve online needs to run good are.
