We don't test the DVD installer, so you're encountering a problem our staff has not yet seen.
In a normal installation of e-Sword using the "Crosstie" file, which downloads the installer, no "Powerpoint" folder is created within the "Program Files/e-Sword" directory. I'm curious what the contents of the DVD looks like if you open it up in a finder? If there's an "e-Sword" directory within that contains the "standard" program files like "e-Sword.exe" and "kjv.bblx", you might try installing a new copy of e-Sword using the Crosstie file (as explained in the "Tips & Tricks" page) and then copy the contents of the "e-Sword" folder from the DVD to the
drive_c/Program Files/e-Sword/
folder within the bottle of the newly created e-Sword install. In theory, you'll then have all of the content from the DVD install within the copy of e-Sword that you installed from the download.
In Finder the DVD shows : autorun.inf, Core, Hebrew, KJV Audio, Modules, PowerPoints, setup.exe(This is CrossOver) and Training.
I am lost on moving forward. When I open the e-sword bottle I get KJV, KJV+, Compare and Parallel. Can't get the rest. Also in Comm window only TSK and in the Dict window only Strong.
I would like to call in but your office is closed when I am home. Is anyone available in the evenings?
This is rogue third-party DVD, so you cannot expect support for something like this. Install e-Sword as Jack suggested using the supported TIE file. There is no telling what is on that DVD, so I suggest you download the supported add-on modules through e-Sword so you know what you are getting.
This DVD is the Awakened Church e-sword 9.9.1. Are you saying this is not a good resource??
Clint reports CodeWeavers has helped others with this DVD finish the installation.
It's not that it's a "bad" resource, per se - the problem is that since the DVD was made by a third party (i.e. not the developer of e-Sword, Rick Meyers), they're including new libraries, components, and installer mechanisms that we have not tested. So when the installation fails, it very difficult to determine why and offer good support.
I think the easiest thing to do, here, would be to have you upload a disc image of the DVD to us so we can test it and post some comprehensive instructions. I'll email you privately with info on how to make a disc image and upload that image to us for testing.
I think I found a workaround to this installer problem.
I noticed that there’s an e-Sword page at the AwakenedChuch website that has separate downloads for the AwakendChurch materials on the DVD:
http://awakenedchurch.com/e-sword
So what you can try to do is to first install e-Sword on your computer using the “standard” method in Crossover (if you have not already done so):
http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=1459;tips=1
Then download the “New PowerPoint Commentary” and “AwakenedChurch” installer files from the first link, above. You can skip the “commentary” and “torah portion” files, it looks like they’re included with “AwakenedChurch”.
With these .exe files downloaded to your computer, try installing them into the same bottle as e-Sword using the instructions outlined in the “install modules” section at the second link, above. When you next launch e-Sword, you should find the additional bibles, commentaries, dictionaries, etc. in e-Sword.
