DDO:EU when you have it installed on Windows as well?

I'd like to run Dungeons and Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited on my dual-boot laptop (Windows 7 64-bit/Fedora 13 64-bit).

I have PyLOTRO installed, and I have DDO installed and working on the Windows 7 partition. The Windows 7 NTFS partition is mounted read/write under Fedora.

Pretty much all the directions I can find to play DDO under Linux involve installing it using the DDO_Standard "big" installer (at MMOsite.com). However, that installer fails for me (the download is corrupted every time).

Reading online directions, it's also suggested I could just copy the files from my Windows install, or even create a soft link to my windows DDO directory.

However, I have no clue where to put said link/copy the files to? Where exactly does PyLOTRO look for the install? There's a button next to the game selector that says "Find Game" but when I click it, it doesn't do anything (I thought maybe I could browse for it).

Any help would be appreciated

From my experience, I would recommend that you redownload from windows the game files and use them to install into your bottle. I would also recommend backing them up just in case. I brunt them and have them on an external hard disk.

Supposedly the newest version of wine 1.3 supports pando now, but i wouldn't bet on it working until more people report success on that one.

The way i look at it, is a time to bs ratio. Redownloading from windows won't take that long and has the least amount of bs involved out of any scenario that will potentially work.

HTH,
Andrew.

The only reason MMOsite.com (and others) are listed is because the downloader does not work under CXG. Since you already have a dual-boot system, use Win7 to download the files, then use CXG to start the install.
