Hi,
I'm not entirely positive this will work, but it may be worth a try...obviously,
with emulate virtual desktop enabled, you can specify whatever you want for the
desktop size value, and this includes any of the widescreen resolutions...however..
a specific app might not 'see' that as a valid situation, because the screen refresh
rate of the emulated desktop window is set to 60Hz. Most widescreen resolutions, as
we know, are anything but that...from a 'default' resolution perspective, the refresh
rate for a 16:9/10 aspect display is likely to be 50/51Hz or such.
You can alter this situation by changing a registry setting -- you'll want to run
regedit on the bottle in question, and then search registry for the (2) keys named;
DefaultSettings.VRefresh
You can change the refresh values there accordingly, but be aware the app itself may
also still be looking for a valid desktop size/resolution to match that specification.
This has worked for me with a couple of titles, but of course YMMV depending on the app.
Hope this helps...
Cheers!
