Please someone help me get ddo running...

OK, this is getting a bit ridiculous now..
I've been at this for over 2weeks now with no sign of ddo working using crossover games.
Firstly I bought the latest version of Crossover Games (v9.1), got the pyLOTRO launcher and the ddo files. After installing it all and patching the game I got the intro video and then a grid of grey squares then the game crashed and reverted back to the desktop.

After browsing the bug forum (empty!) I moved onto the Tips & Tricks, and after attempting all methods and re-installing everything I still came up empty handed. Hence forth to the Forum...
I've read every post in this forum, installed Crossover (v8.1.4) as some people seem to be able to play it off of that. Made myself a new bottle..got pyLOTRO in there and the ddo files again (I also installed Steam into this bottle). This time I get
"Initialising, please wait...
Available languages checked.
Fetched details from GLS data centre.
Realm list obtained.
World queue configuration read"

NOTE: I'm also getting the news feed on the box on the left hand side if that means anything!?)

After logging in it goes to a white box labelled output and simply comes up Finished
I try and patch the game and surprise surprise, I'm smacked with Finished once more.

I appreciate that many people are having problems with operating the game on the Mac, however it clearly states in your supported software section before purchasing Crossover Games 9.1 that DDO:Eberron Unlimited IS supported. Please can someone help me to get this one game up and running?

If not I will be looking into getting a full refund. All system information below to see if that helps,
Thanks, Andrew.

System: MAC OSX 10.6.4 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Crossover: Version (8.1.4)
pyLOTRO: Version (0.1.13)

I ran into that on my Mac as well. It's the bugged sound causing this. I am at work right now, so unable to be spot on specific, but roughly what you need to do is manually edit the ddo config file that should be in your Documents/ddo in your users home directory. Disable sound for now. I do believe the same fix applies for Lord of the Rings Online as well, but I cannot say for certain right now because I primarily game on my linux installs.

Let me know if you need me to post the exact file and path and what field to tweak. Its not hard, but if you are still running into issues, I can walk you thru it.

I'm running into this same problem. I'm pretty sure my trial is going to run out before this gets resolved, but I figured I'd post here anyway. I can get DDO to load, but before it gets to the character screen the game client disappears and I get that PyLotRO window with "Finished" in it.

I've located my userpreferences.ini file and made sure both

SoundDisabled=True
MusicDisabled=True

were in there. The game didn't launch with them set to False either. I even removed everything from their directory in hopes something was corrupt and the game just needed to rebuild it. No joy. Oh well...
