As several posters have noted before, the above (Acrobat 7.0 Professional) does not work under cxoffice 5.0.3. I will protocol my (unsuccessful) attempt here just for the record.
I tried the following:
a) installing to the working default bottle (win98). No success (the Adobe installer declared some incompatibility right away)
b) installing into a new windows 2000 bottle
- had to install IE 6.0 into that bottle first by hand, version must be downloaded directly from Microsoft
- Adobe installer complains about a missing file instmsia.exe ; I applied the Great Hack and simply renamed an existing file instmsiw.exe to instmsia.exe
- Then InstallShield comes up, checks memory requirement, but on the very next screen, when the installation is about to start, the "Next" button simply does not do anything at all.
Sad. This does not sound like a too hard thing to fix, given that Acrobat Reader in the same version works fine, but I have no idea how to proceed from here. Any ideas?
