Mouse stuck

I have a couple of unsupported games where the mouse seems to be stuck either at the top or the bottom of the screen. It makes navigating menus a little difficult.

What might help overcome mouse problems?

Hi,

You're really going to need to tell us the version of crossover you are using,
your platform/OS/videocard info etc before anyone can help you with this B)

CHeers!

Sorry about that, Don. You're right.

I'm using:
Crossover Games 9.0
OS X 10.6.3
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16 ghz
NVidia GeForce 7300 GT with 128 mb VRAM

Specifically, I'm finding this issue on these unsupported games:
Deus Ex
Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
Unreal Tournament 2003

I know that these are unsupported apps but I'm just curious if there might be something, perhaps in the registry, that could improve mouse control.

Okay...now we're cooking with gas -- deusex, ut and I think morrowind were slightly
broken by the cxg-9.0 release ; these are all included in other tickets & the Ninjas
and devs know about those. Stalker-SoC I can't even get to start on my linux system,
(never have been able to get the steam version running here), but it sounds like it's
another title similarly effected. I do know the codeweavers crew will be working on
a subsequent CXG-9 release to fix some issues, but I have no idea when such will be
released...as always, "when it's ready" is the standard answer.

Cheers!

Thanks for the feedback, Don. I was digging around for similar issues and in the forum on Morrowind, I saw this thread about a similar problem:http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=233;forum=1;msg=65304

Ok fixed it.

Goto

CXG Menu > Programs > Run command > type regedit

Navigate to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Bethesda Softworks > Morrowind

Then change screen height and screen width to your native screen
resolution (e.g. H 800 W 1280). The mouse seems to work fine now.

But didn't mention the string name I should use to input the native screen resolution. What string name should be used? Might this work?

I do notice that this person used "Bethesday Softworks > Morrowind". My Morrowind is in a folder marked "Morrowind" rather than "Bethesda Softworks". Please forgive me for not knowing this, but when adding these folders to HKLM, should I use the folder names, or does it have to do with something else (such as the game maker)?
Thanks for your help.

Problem solved!

It turns out this is not really a problem with the mouse but with the screen resolution. Ultimately I didn't have to go into the registry to fix it. I just messed with the video settings themselves.

I've now got Morrowind and Deus Ex working beautifully. The other two are playable (STALKER is very playable, and UT is a little clunky, but it runs). Later I'll try to mess with the display settings for those and see if I can get them to work a little better.
