I get a server error message trying to register Quicken 2012. I selected Quicken 2011 from the list of supported software and then chose the Quicken 2012 installer file already downloaded on my mac when I originally installed Quicken.
Quicken won't allow me to pay bills without registering. I'm running the trial version of Crossover. If it's not going to support registering Quicken, I don't want to buy it.
Can anyone tell me if the registration process works for Quicken 2011?
You can't register Quicken 2012 in Crossover - Quicken hasn't been able to register in Crossover for several years, but you can de-activate the registration prompt to be able to connect and update your accounts.
To do so, go to Quicken's "Tools" menu, and then hold down left shift+left control and click on "one step update". You'll then be told that "you'll no longer be prompted for registration", and thereafter you should be able to connect.
As a side note - Quicken 2012 won't be officially supported until the release of Crossover 11, but you can find a "quicken 2012" installer option in the "community supported applications" section of Crossover's Install Software menu, provided that you've set the installer to update automatically. Otherwise, you can install Quicken 2012 using the "crosstie" file at this page:
