L4D 2, TF2 Bugs

I Cant play L4D2, i have a 2.66 iMac with ATI Graphics (2600 HD). The bug is that when i go to the water, i can see anything and when i cloak with spy, something wrong happens (TF2) and in L4D2 i can see anything.
Please i want to play L4D, i'm very excited with the new game.

Thanks you for your excelent support!

You don't say what version of Mac OS X you're using, but I'm guessing 10.6.2. 10.6.2 introduced a graphics driver bug affecting ATI Radeon HD 2600s and 2400s (and possibly other ATI cards). Actually, the same bug was present in earlier versions of Snow Leopard, but only affected X1600 and X1900 cards. With 10.6.2, it has spread to more ATI cards.

We have isolated the bug and it has nothing to do with CrossOver, Wine, or L4D2/TF2. It can be reproduced in a stand-alone program having nothing to do with any of those. We have reported it to Apple. We hope they a) fix it and b) are able to suggest a workaround in the meantime. We have not been able to find an acceptable workaround, ourselves. (You can sidestep the issue by tweaking a registry setting, but then you get terrible framerates.)

The best I can suggest is to roll back the OS to 10.6.1. Unfortunately, that's complicated and means you don't get any of the improvements in 10.6.2 (some of which may be important security fixes).

Mmmm... Thank you very much, i will wait to 10.6.3.
=)!

I'd recommend trying the latest version of CX Games, 8.1.3. This has a fix for recent L4D2 launch issues, as well as patches for ATI-related driver bugs.
