Running an .exe file from terminal with Crossover

Hey There,

So I am attempting to get Lego Digital Designer to work under CrossOver - the install goes flawlessly how ever the game is dumping out on load. How can I go about running the LDD.exe from terminal with CrossOver so I can see any errors it out puts?

Thanks,
~Jeff

~/cxgames/bin/wine --bottle [bottle_name] --debugmsg +seh "LDD.exe"

There are more options/channels that can be used with the --debugmsg flag.
You can also concatenate the options/channels to look at more than one...eg;

~/cxgames/bin/wine --bottle [bottle_name] --debugmsg +ddraw,+d3d7,+d3d,+d3d_caps,+d3d_surface,+seh,+tid "LDD.exe"

You can of course pipe this out to a logfile (with the above command line you would do this
because it's sooo verbose, but demonstrating the first example);

~/cxgames/bin/wine --bottle [bottle_name] --debugmsg +seh "LDD.exe" &> run.log

The created run.log file will contain the plain text output.

Hope this helps..

That was exactly what I am looking for! Thank you much,

~Jeff

Alrighty, so it is actually /opt/cxgames/bin/wine --bottle Lego --debugmsg +seh "LDD.exe"

Thanks all the same though,
~Jeff

Apologies, that was my oversight -- I was considering the case for a single user
installation in $HOME_DIR while at the same time totally forgetting about the
system_wide install path of /opt - obviously you know the feathers of your
penguin well enough to have worked this out for yourself, but apologies
notwithstanding if I caused you any confusion ;)

Thehe I know my Penguin a small bit - enough to debug some issues ;)

On the positive side, at least the thread now shows both path options ;D

Cheers!
